JAY KEESE, Founding Partner
Jay
Keese is a lobbyist and public affairs professional with almost two
decades of experience in political Washington.
Keese specializes in creating strategic campaigns that help clients win
on key public policy issues. He provides a wide array of advocacy
services including lobbying, issue campaign management, political
strategy, coalition building and strategic planning. He brings clients
a diverse policy background and a strong record of legislative
accomplishments in health care, financial services, technology, energy
and the environment.
His credentials include advocacy work for several major trade
associations, all three Republican national committees, dozens of
political campaigns and service as an aide to the late Sen. John Heinz,
R-PA.
A skilled oral and written communicator, Keese has
been featured on C-SPAN and has made presentations on legislative and
political topics to professional groups nationwide.
At the American Medical Association, he played an instrumental role in
a string of legislative and grassroots campaigns on health care reform,
Medicare and antitrust issues. He worked extensively with the business
community while serving as Senior Manager of Political Affairs for the
U.S. Chamber of Commerce. At the Edison Electric Institute, he managed
issue campaigns on electricity deregulation, global climate change and
clean air.
He also has experience with financial services,
representing the nation's credit unions in a their successful 1998
legislative campaign overturning a Supreme Court ruling restricting
credit union membership.
As a member of the prestigious Wye River Group on Health Jay has been
at the forefront of legislative and regulatory efforts to bring greater
choice to patients and expand coverage for the uninsured. Recent
achievements include a key role in Senate passage of the Greater Access
to Affordable Pharmaceuticals Act, a major victory for the generic
pharmaceutical industry.
Jay and his wife Sara live in Alexandria, Virginia and have three young
children, Katie, Caroline and William.
